Privacy policy
Likely Home for Are.na has one purpose: help you save the page, text, or image you choose to an Are.na channel, with likely channels sorted by Jev.
Data the extension handles
- The URL, title, description, visible text excerpt, or selected text from the page where you open the extension.
- An image URL when you use the image context-menu action.
- Your Are.na channel names, descriptions, visibility, and identifiers.
- An Are.na OAuth access token, the public Are.na OAuth client ID, and your TypeSafe Jev API key.
How the data is used
The extension sends the chosen page content and channel metadata to TypeSafe Jev only to rank likely destination channels. It sends the content you choose, selected channel identifiers, and channel-creation requests to Are.na only to perform the requested action.
The extension stores settings, credentials, and a cached channel list in Chrome's extension storage on your device. The channel cache refreshes after 24 hours. The developer does not operate an intermediary server and does not receive this data.
Sharing, sale, and retention
The extension does not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes. Are.na and TypeSafe process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Local data remains until you remove it, disconnect the extension, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension.
Security
All network requests use HTTPS. Are.na authorization uses OAuth with PKCE. The extension does not include an Are.na client secret or a TypeSafe API key in its distributed package.
